We launch the UDRP Assistant: free answers when you need them most

A domain name holder who receives a complaint under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) often has little time and few reliable places to turn to. That is why the UDRP Legal Clinic at Universidad Católica del Norte (Chile) is launching the UDRP Assistant: a free tool, in English and Spanish, available 24/7.
Built on UDRP-specific material. Unlike a general-purpose chatbot, the UDRP Assistant draws on material selected by the clinic: the Policy and the UDRP Rules, our guides and FAQs, the clinic's reports on Reverse Domain Name Hijacking, and our analyses of panel decisions. We will keep feeding it with new UDRP case law from the panels, so its answers grow richer over time.
Some questions you can ask it:
- How long do I have to respond? (Under paragraph 5 of the UDRP Rules, 20 days from the commencement of the administrative proceeding; if you expressly ask, the provider grants 4 more days.)
- What must the complainant prove to have my domain name transferred?
- Is this UDRP email real, or phishing?
- What is Reverse Domain Name Hijacking (RDNH)?
Good to know: the assistant gives general information, not legal advice, and it can make mistakes. After your first question it will ask for your name and email so that the clinic can follow up; you may decline and still contact us. You may attach documents about your case, but first remove sensitive data and details of other people. More in our Privacy Policy.
Need someone to look at your case? A review by the clinic is also free of charge: law students supervised by lawyers and academics. Request it at udrp.ucn.cl/get-help-now, ideally as soon as you receive the notice.
If you know someone who holds a domain name — a small business, an entrepreneur, a non-profit — please share this link: legalclinic.blog/asistente.
